Describe what the wipers leave behind
Is it a narrow streak, a large missed patch or a greasy film? Does a blade skip across the glass? Identify the front left, front right or rear wiper, and say whether the problem started suddenly or after replacement. A pattern helps plan the check, but does not identify one failed component.
Safe checks while the car is parked
Check whether the film is outside or inside the glass. Clean accessible glass with a suitable automotive product and follow the handbook if the wipers need a service position. Do not force an arm upwards, bend it to increase pressure or pull a frozen blade off the windscreen. Avoid abrasive household mixtures and operating the blades on dry, dirty glass.
New blades still leaving marks?
The correct size is only part of choosing a blade: the design and attachment must also match the vehicle. Tell the workshop which blades were fitted and whether the wiping pattern changed immediately afterwards. Glass contamination, fitment, blade condition or the mechanism may need attention before buying another set.
Separate wiping, washing and misting
If the washers do not spray, report that as a separate symptom. If the film is on the inside of the windows, wipers cannot remove it; see the window-fogging guide. Mention whether frost, recent work or a sudden failure preceded the change. An electrical fault is not a reason to fit a higher-rated fuse.
When visibility becomes the priority
If the wipers cannot maintain a clear view in rain, stop safely and arrange help before continuing. Do not wipe the screen by hand, film the fault or conduct tests while driving. Abnormal movement or blades colliding also needs checking rather than repeated operation.
Request the work that suits the problem
Send the make, model, year and the symptoms, including whether the washers work and the blades are new. Ask about suitable parts and the available check. A replacement-blade price does not cover every mechanism repair; agree the proposed scope and total before work starts.

Should I buy another set if new blades leave streaks?
First check the fitment and describe the pattern. More blades may not fix contamination, an incorrect attachment or a mechanism problem.
Can I bend the arm to improve contact?
Do not adjust the arm without the prescribed procedure. Extra pressure can cause damage and is not a reliable diagnosis.
